My name is Sasha and it has been several months since my last blog post. I started this blog as a way of sharing with you the things I've learned along my journey through life. I wasn't looking to enlist in The Great Resignation by venturing out on my own. I wanted to do virtually what I do for the people in my life - show you the view through a different lens. I've learned that sometimes your lens get dirty or in my case busy. You can't see clearly if your vision is blurred. That is exactly what happened here. I had an idea and then life blurred my vision.

I made the brave and crazy decision in late August to go to grad school. I also decided to learn music engineering so I could record my own songs, I took back up chess, and even redesigned my home office. I filled all of my available time with other things that kept me busy and a lot of shopping on Amazon. Why did I shift my focus? I would be lying if I said that I just had other priorities. The truth is plain, big, hairy, and waiving a sign. I got scared. I overwhelmed myself and I quit without actually even admitting that it was quitting.

Note to self: If you start something and then walk away - not officially calling it quits doesn't mean that you didn't give up on it.

When I look back at all the hours that I wasted shopping for things I don't need. I could have promoted this blog, shared it with a few friends, and created more content. I did none of that. I walked away and kept telling myself that I would get around to it. Well, that level of procrastination is ending. 2022 is coming and with the New Year it is time to step up. I will make it a priority to write one post a week. I will develop the good habits needed to keep up what I started.

When was the last time you had a desire that you allowed to fizzle out? It may be time for you to clean your dirty lens so that your goals get back in focus. Let's promise each other that we will make better more consistent habits in the New Year.

It isn't the destination that matters but who you become as you make the journey.
